HOW TO TELL THAT YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR SAND FILTER?
A telltale sign that your filter may need new sand is when it becomes more difficult to clean than before. Often your pool will lose it sparkle and become dull, this is a clear indicator that tiny debris is being fed back into the pool and not being caught by the sand.
Another sign is when it requires more filtration, backwash and rinse cycles to get the pool back to fantastic clarity – more than it did in the past. In addition, the fast appearance of algae after a clean could mean either that your chlorine levels are incorrect or your filter sand is no longer doing its job.
