Pump up any Halloween party with these pool tips and tricks
If you are looking to add a new dimension to your Halloween party this year, why not dress your pool up too? With a few simple tools, you can add that something extra and give your Halloween party the advantage that it needs.
- Floating hands
Create a spooky atmosphere with floating, glow in the dark hands. All you need are glow sticks and rubber gloves. Simple crack the glow stick and place them inside the glove, then blow the glove up to the desired size, tie a knot and throw it in the pool.
- Kid-friendly colour pop
For a kid-friendly party, why not fill the pool with orange, green and black balloons? Step it up a notch by drawing on some creepy eyes with black marker. Just make sure to fill the balloons up with air and not helium so that they can float around the pool.
- Skeletal pool party
Bump up your party’s fun factor by blowing up some pool toys and placing some skeletons in and around the inflatables. Is that skeleton riding a unicorn? Yes, yes it is!
- Illuminated graveyard
For a more DIY approach, create an illuminated graveyard. Cut out gravestone shapes out of Styrofoam, paint them accordingly and place them in the bushes around your swimming pool. Then light some tea light candles and let them float around the pool. If you are nervous about the wax falling into the pool, simply place the candles in any plastic container and allow them to float around.
- Pumpkin patch
Did you know that pumpkins can float? To create your own floating pumpkin patch, carve out some jack-o-lanterns from Styrofoam and let them free in your swimming pool.
Make sure the pool decorations are child-friendly and remember to remove dangerous objects before letting the kids swim. Don’t forget to give your pool a great, big clean after the festivities have ended.
