Pool Pumps
Pool pumps play a vital role in keeping your pool clean and shiny. Its main
role is to make sure that your pool’s water is continually circulating. This
means that all the chemicals that you add in are being mixed and that your
water won’t stagnate.
This process takes place through pulling in the water, filtering it and then
dispersing it back into your pool. This results in your pool having nice clean
water for you and your family to swim in.
One of our more frequently asked questions is how long someone should run
their pool pump for, thankfully we have some nice and easy guidelines
available.
There are a few factors to take into consideration when calculating how long
to run your pool pump, such as the size and shape of the pool, the size of the
filter and the size of the pump.
In summer, it is preferable to circulate the entire volume of the pool twice
in a day. In winter, it is only necessary to circulate the water once.
The general rule of thumb (based on a 50 000 litre pool with 0.75kW pool pump)
is to run the pool pump for approximately 8 hours per day in summer and 4
hours per day in winter. This can also be split throughout the day to suit
your needs, for example, a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the
evening.
So don’t wait. Get the perfect pump for your pool and ensure your pool stays
shining all year long.
