32A Double Pole Isolator A double pole isolator or a 2 pole isolator switch is installed to allow a specific appliance or circuit to be switched off so that servicing maintenance and testing can be done safely. A double pole isolator are necessary in the case of a hard-wired appliance neutral-earth fault occurring - they allow for the switch to be off and isolate the faulty equipment easily and safely allowing the tripped RCD to be reset restoring power to the rest of the healthy circuits.
