How to Correctly use Armbands

How to Correctly use Armbands

Summer is here and it’s time to have fun in the sun with family and friends! Pool time is a great way to bond with our children as we teach them the skills needed to be confident swimmers. However, it is important to keep our children safe with the use of appropriate floatation devices.

It is recommended to purchase safety devices from a reputable pool store to ensure you are getting the best quality. The Pool Team stocks a variety of safety devices suitable for different ages. These devices all meet the necessary requirements to provide a fun and safe swimming experience for our children.

Armbands are a fantastic device used to provide protection for children. The Pool Team stocks Zoggs armbands which are premium quality. They are manufactured with thick, durable PVC material and bright colours for added visibility in the water. All Zoggs products are NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) approved, and are carefully designed to provide the utmost protection for children.

The Zoggs armbands are designed with dual air chambers to protect the child even if one chamber fails. They are available in two different styles – roll ups and float bands – both of which are easy to use and ensure a safe swimming experience for children up to six years old.

How to correctly use armbands

Float Bands

Float bands should ideally be inflated once the band is already on the child’s arm. Simply place the band on the child’s upper arm, inflate both air chambers until they fit securely, push in the valve and your child is ready to get in the water! Once the child is in the water, assess the buoyancy and adjust the armband if necessary. To deflate the armband, push the valve out, open it and push the air out while squeezing the valve.

Roll ups

Roll ups are designed to be inflated before being place on the child’s arm. Simply inflate both air chambers, push in the valve and roll the armband up the child’s arm. Once the child is in the water, assess the buoyancy and adjust the armband if necessary. To deflate the armband, push the valve out, open it and push the air out while squeezing the valve.

Both float bands and roll ups are easy to inflate and deflate and can be used in the pool, at the beach, or anywhere else where the child might have access to water.

Although these floatation devices are designed to give children confidence while assisting them in learning to swim, they are not intended for use without supervision. It is imperative to never let children in or around the pool unsupervised!
